Piniella will serve as a special contributor for Yankees coverage, working as an analyst on some games as well as pre- and postgame work from the network’s studio. YES Network president of production and programming John Filippelli says he expects Piniella to contribute to 20-30 games, but that number could increase.

The YES Network, the most-watched regional sports network in the country the past nine years, was nominated for 31 New York Emmy Awards this morning. YES, which celebrates the 10th anniversary of its launch on March 19, now has 266 Emmy nominations since its 2002 launch.
